F*ck You, It's Friday! – Playlist Quarter Life Crisis
And a big ol’ F*ck You, it’s Friday! to you! This week has been long but the good news is that we’re at the weekend. We’ve got some cool stuff on tap. There is a Gram Parson’s tribute concert at the Great American Music Hall tonight which I’m hoping to drag someone to, and tomorrow we’ll be down in the Castro (yes, that Castro) at a girlfriend’s birthday brunch where we’ve been promised many a babe to gawk at. On top of that there are four solid football games on featuring the final eight teams battling it out in the NFL playoffs. Hope ya’ll have a great weekend.
We’ve been listening to a whole lot of Replacements lately and I thought I’d center this week’s playlist around the ‘Mats. All of these songs were chosen because they are by the Replacements, covered ‘Mats tunes, songs that sound like the Replacements, or just tunes by bands from the great state of Minnesota. No reason to break down the track listing choices for you this week but I hope you enjoy this one.
F*ck You, It’s Friday – Playlist 25
1. The Evening Rig – The Steve McQueens
2. Tommy Stinson – A Moment Too Soon
3. Charn – Holding Hands
4. Paul Westerberg – Silver Naked Ladies
5. The Replacements – Within Your Reach
6. Static Taxi – Mr. Blu
7. The Replacements – Left of the Dial
8. The Replacements – Portland
9. Micah Schnabel – Can’t Hardly Wait
10. Against Me! – Bastards of Young
11, Ben Nichols – If Only You Were Lonely
12, The Don Ramos Players – Flash Your Medals
This week we’re dedicating this playlist to the great movie character, Shane Falco. While Shane wasn’t a member of the band, The Replacements, he was the hero of the movie “The Replacements” and for that, I think he’s pretty cool. Here is a pretty hilarious scene where the team gets in a big ol’ bar fight. So cheesy, yet so good.
Enjoy the weekend,
Skeeter
