F*ck You, It's Friday! – Playlist 26

Hey Guy and Gals,

What’s crackin? This week was a pretty standard week over here at the porch. Man, it has been raining cats and dogs here in San Francisco, and most of California for that matter. I guess it’s good for the land and the water cycle and all that, but it just totally overcrowds the already overcrowded animal shelters. That’s for a different time I suppose. Oh shoot, I almost forgot, F*ck You, it’s Friday! I apologize for not mentioning that earlier, but you knew it was coming at some point right? Hopefully you all have had a nice week and you’re looking forward to getting a bit crazy this weekend. I’m driving down to Bakersfield this afternoon and with the rain the way it is, I’m assuming that what is normally a 4 hour drive could be 7, AWESOME!

I feel a bit gross about saying this, but did you guys catch the Jersey Shore finale last night? Wow, those people are so awesome. And by awesome I mean fucking horrible. Who the hell lives at the beach for six weeks and goes to it once? We can’t complain though, because all three of us here have watched every episode. I suppose we’re part of the problem. In honor of the Jersey Shore, and the guilty pleasure that it has become for millions of Americans, I’ve decided that this week’s theme should be “guilty pleasures.” All of us are providing you with songs that we enjoy, but we prefer to enjoy them when no one else knows that we’re enjoying them. They’re all great songs in and of themselves, but they definitely don’t fit within our usual genrical (genre+ical) tastes. I hope that word catches on.

I’m bringing tunes from the “modern” Kings of Leon, John Mayer featuring Taylor Swift, Passion Pit, and Hockey. Keith provided you tracks from Empire of The Sun, My Chemical Romance, Coconut Records, and Smoosh. Skeet rounded things out with Everclear, The Black Kids, Head Automatica, and Unwritten Law. I feel like you all just saw us in our underpants. I wear boxer briefs, but Skeet and Keith are both tighty-whitey guys, GaROSS!

F*ck You, It’s Friday! – Playlist 26

Unwritten Law – Shoulda Known Better
Kings of Leon – Revelry
Smoosh – It’s Cold
Passion Pit – Little Secrets
John Mayer feat. Taylor Swift – Half of My Heart
Hockey – Song Away
Coconut Records – Minding My Own Business
My Chemical Romance – Early Sunsets Over Monroeville
The Black Kids – Look At Me (When I Rock Wichoo)
Empire of The Sun – We Are The People
Head Automatica – Cannibal Girl
Everclear – The Swing

So, since the Jersey Shore is over, I know you’re all going to be looking for more absolutely brainless television to soak up and waste an hour of your week. Well, Skeet and I may have found something to fill that void for you. Check out the trailer below for the new Spike TV original, Blue Mountain State. It’s not a reality show, but it’s filled with some awesomely corny poopoo type jokes, and some amazing one-liners, and the football scenes are actually pretty realistic. Give it a shot!

Later Juice-heads,

Brain.

I don't care what anyone says, Taylor Swift is legit…girl writes her own music and has sold millions of records as a teenager…at the very least, you have to respect her…

I feel so guilty listening to this, but then again I've been bumpin Passion Pit on fridays for a while now so I shouldn't feel too bad. If you guys want to get guilty for a full weekend you should check out Coachella's lineup this year. It is pretty stellar in my opinion. I mean Avett Bros, Lucero, Yeasayers, Passion Pit, Grizzley Bear and that is just day one!!! Sounds legit for me. Maybe you guys can get FPM to pay for your trip down to do some special blog posts or something.
