Upcoming Stuff
Hey Fools,
What’s up? Today is Sunday, and I’m far too hungover to be productive. Our buddies over at Brick Gun Records decided to throw a last minute barbeque because of the awesome weather we had here in the city, and I decided to partake. Since Sparks became totally pussified the guys turned me on to what they’ve found as a replacement, Four Loko. I had my first one yesterday and liked it so much that I had two. I think that’s one and a half too many, but it made for an awesome day. Anyhow, there is a lot of cool stuff going on at the Porch, so I thought I’d take this opportunity to give you a lil preview of all that stuff as opposed to working on any of that stuff, makes sense right?
First and foremost, we’re going to be in Austin next week from Wednesday the 17th to Sunday the 21st. Please forgive us if we’re a little absent from the blog during that time, because I’m sure the 3 of us will be running around and giggling like school girls all week. We’ll do our best to put up some posts each day to let you know what we did and where we’re heading. You care about that stuff right? The only thing we’ve set in stone so far is Saturday. I’m pretty sure we’ll be HERE.
That being said, there are a few cool things we’re going to be talking about in the coming weeks. One of those cool things is going to be the new Murder By Death album – Good Morning, Magpie. We’ve gotten the album a bit early and have been listening to the crap out of it for the past couple of weeks. It’s hella good. So good in fact that we can’t handle it. We’ve tapped our good buddy John to review it and he’s also going to be doing an interview with the band. That will be coming through really soon, and we’re going to let you all stream the album here before it comes out, just to give you a little taste.
In addition to that sweet news, we’ve also gotten our hands on the new Hanalei album. Our buddy Brian Moss has been involved in a lot of musical projects. You should know his work from The Ghost, or OleHole. His tunes in Hanalei are far and away my favorite, so I’m pretty jazzed about reviewing this album. Fo Sho. It’s called One Big Night and will be coming out on Brick Gun Records in the next few months. I’ll have some more details for y’all when I review it in the coming weeks. Hanalei will be playing some of this new stuff at their show on April 1st at the Union Room here in the city. Oh yeah, they’ll be opening for Kasey Anderson that night too. What a small world huh?
We’ve also learned that our friend Zoe Muth will be coming to San Francisco in early April. She’s going to be playing at Grant & Green Saloon on Thursday April 1st. We’ll be sure to get you some more details as that date approaches, but go ahead and put it in your calendar now, just to be safe.
The last piece that I’d like to share with you is a video that our buddy Jimmy sent to us. It’s a pretty cool ad for Muscle Milk that will give you a nice preview of what our days will look like out in Austin. Spring Breakin’ it Down, fersher.
Welp, that’s about all the work I’m willing to do today. Putting those links in there is a lot of work, so cut me some slack. Time to watch the MLB network all day.
Taker Easy,
Brain

Coming out from Georgia to attend SXSW. Leaving tomorrow morning and pumped to catch your show at Friends Bar. I really don’t get why you guys will be giggling like school girls though? Maybe that is just a small difference between the South and California. A beer on me.
